Although it appears the Ariens snowblowers do not shear the pins as often as another brand of snowblower I am familiar with and will only shear them when necessary, I bought extra shear pins in addition to the two that came with my new snowblower. I did this largely because I was placing an order of other items with Ariens and just added this. And the two spare shear pins the snowblower came with are always frozen to the snowblower while snow blowing. I now I COULD remove the spares the snowblower came with and keep them elsewhere as to not freeze but you can never have too many shear pins!
